PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE:-
IFC advisers are responsible for guiding students as they guide them about higher education institution according to their needs, skills, and goals. They generate awareness.
Guidance offered to be best, comprehensive, and current information about the full range of higher education opportunities.
IFC follows principles of good practice.
- Serve to all without regard to nationality, race, sex, gender identity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, or ability.
- Use title, and professional associations only for the conduct of official IFC advising work or other work assigned by host institution supervisor.
- Provide accurate, comprehensive, and current information about the full range of higher education opportunities at accredited higher education institutions.
- Ensure that statements of personal opinion or judgment are clearly designated as such.
- Refrain from endorsing any ranking of a college or university except for the welfare of the students.
- Provide at least a general introduction to the advising process at nominal charge; this presentation may be in the form of a group session or another format available.
- If fees are charged, provide a fee structure for services that is clearly publicized to all our associates and that is reasonable by local standards. Receipts must be issued to our associates and documented in the IFC accounts.
- Know and comply with the laws, regulations, and policies of the country and the host country relevant to international students.
- Protect the privacy of IFC advisees by not sharing their names or contact information with third parties, such as colleges, universities, or commercial and non-commercial organizations, without the advisees consent.
- Decline to accept gifts or favors.
- Refrain from endorsing or recommending services provided by a company or organization in the areas of test preparation, admissions, placement, language training, or visa procurement.
- Personal fees/honoraria for professional services, such as lectures or consultations is charged only under various circumstances.
- Seek appropriate guidance and direction from MHRD, Embassies or Higher education council when faced with an ethical dilemma.
- Encourage women education and scholarship.
- Promote education and employment of disable people and provide scholarship to them.
